Final Reflection Post 3/1/15

Time for my final reflection post this will be a lot easier now then it would have been when I started on this journey. Before this assignment I had little experience if any at writing. I was also sorely lacking in several other skills I needed for this journal. Now I am further then I was in many ways but still have long to go.
Doing these posts have helped in several ways. Technology itself is relatively new to me so when I was asked to start a blog my nerves were in full throttle. My typing skills which still aren't great were actually close to terrible. The first couple that I tried took me long amounts of time before I even began just to think what I wanted to do and how I would go about it. Now, I don't get nervous going to the site it is automatic. It doesn't take me an hour to type out three paragraphs. The Ideas just pop into my head and I don't second guess everything I write, I just do it.
This blog has also let me know the things I still need to work on. I still have many things to learn about writing. If I do just let things flow I tend to forget the correct format. I also still have issues with grammar, spelling, punctuation and tenses.
As long as I did not put to much thought into this being able to be read by any and everyone it wasn't that bad. To get past the technology shyness I just looked at it as writing in a notebook, that helped. Those are the things I liked and disliked. Liking, writing in a diary. Disliking, everyone in the world able to read my writing and my mistakes.  I did not enjoy having to do more then I wanted or more then I had time for but knew it had to be done and there was reasons for it. I did enjoy bettering myself in writing and typing even if it was only small strides. Expressing myself and possibly others is another bonus.
Through this I have found that I like doing personal writings more than other pieces  I had to do. I also found that if I start with the first paragraph and then do the final paragraph its easier to do the middle last. I think out of all these blogs only about five are what you would call good. The blogging served a different purpose at least for me, to learn and to become more comfortable. I also learned I like to write fiction which I didn't know that is why Dream was my favorite blog.

weird 3/1

Have you ever had something weird happen to your body? No I do not mean like someone doing something to you. Yes, this could go a million ways in someones head. I am actually going to be pretty specific. There could be tons of things that I myself could be talking about but this time its just one.
A couple weeks ago while at work, my ear started itching. You are probably thinking, what is weird about that. At first it wasn't that odd but when it just wouldn't stop it started to be a little strange. Then the burning began I guess at first I thought it was just from being so cold then warming up to fast. Then the itching started to get unbearable. It felt as if I was bit by something, some bug. Now I have sensitive skin and some pretty wicked allergies. So again I figured a bug, I also had some type of allergy to. Since it still had not stopped itching for over an hour and it was driving me buggy I decided to see if I washed it that would help or if the office had some hydrocortisone cream.
I went to the bathroom first and as I washed it off I realized two things. First, my ear was almost two times its normal size. Second, there was no bite that I could see. So I cleaned it and got the cream which helped some but only for about two hours. This continued on and off for about two weeks. When I called my doctor to make an appointment but they were full I decided to just live with it as long as it got at least a little better everyday. When you can't see a doctor whats the next best thing why, Google of course. So I found a couple things that could cause this from bug bite to certain disease. I found one that made sense down to my ear peeling at the end of those weeks. It is caused from what is almost frostbite your skins strange reaction to being too cold. Some people with sensitive skin get bumps, itchy and swollen. So a week after it stopped it did it again for only a day but weird. Maybe I will know for sure what it is if it does it again because I will definitely be off to the doctor.

mac n cheese n tuna

This is a simple and delicious thing. Macaroni and cheese with tuna have you ever tried it. When I was little I felt like this was my own. When my sister and her friend came home late one night with the munchies they woke me as they giggled in the kitchen. They were teenagers and the first thing they thought of, the easy thing they can make is Mac and cheese. Why not make it that much better and add some tuna. I am not sure which one of them decided this is what they wanted to eat or if they had it before. I know it wasn't something my mom had made us (similar casserole) maybe the friends mom or maybe they just decided it sounded good. Either way they came into my room because they just had to share their wonderful late night snack. It was good!
So not long after that I began making it for my self I was about ten. It was easy and filling and good. All you had to have was a box of mac n' cheese some milk, butter and a can of tuna. You can add some things like salt, pepper or even little other things to make it your own. Real cheese melted in at the end is a plus or even green beans or sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. The tuna in water works best for me. Now there are different flavors of Mac n' cheese so try them all.
Now this is a thing that I passed on to my children it is my daughters favorite meal to prepare herself when not eating as a family. When your by yourself or with just one other person it is a nice little meal. You can always add an extra box and some sides to make it a family meal. Don't knock it until you try it, and make it your own.

March 1st 2015

The older you get the faster the days, months and years go by. At least that is how it seems. When your young, your school year seems to tick by so slow you just can't wait for summer to arrive. Then it isn't as if summer flies by either it is just a separate time of the year. Except maybe the last week that always did seem to fly.
As the saying goes, time flies when your having fun. That just isn't the case when it comes to getting older and the years flying by. I have been trying to come up with some possible reasons. Why do the days go by in a wink, the seasons change before you even get everything set up for the one your in, the babies turn in to children, teens then adults in a blink of the eye.
My first thought is we know we are getting closer to deaths door and that makes us feel that life is going faster. Then there is several other things that came to mind like your brain can only hold so much and its already filled partially up so you keep less memory in. Another possibility, you don't have as many things you look forward to, days you count down to a special event.
My final reason is the one I believe. That our lives become so full, so packed with things to do, so busy that everything is shortened. When you are younger you fill your time with the things you want to do and have fun while you do it. Sleeping in when your not in school, and hanging out with friends or doing whatever it is that you like. When you are an adult you are trying to squeeze in everything you need to get done in a day. Usually all things you need to do in the day pours over to the next. Most of these things you do are not your wants but your have to. You watch all the beautiful things and people in your life grow old and move on. It gets hard to stop and smell the roses. Simple you don't let the day take anytime so the days fly by.

How hard is it to love at a distance

I think if the question how hard is it to love at a distance was put out there for people to answer, the variety of response would be overwhelming. Not only in the answer to the question but also in how to take the question. The question does not just have to mean a husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend it could also mean a son, daughter, family member or a friend. Then the levels of this question multiplies dramatically. Then the distance itself and the length of time also becomes a factor.
Some people handle distance with ease. There are also people that can't handle to be away from someone for more then a day.
It is difficult to be away from anyone without physical touch, either a hug if a family member or more if it is your significant other. Just to be able to look at each other face to face and have a conversation is something that can overwhelm you. If it isn't forever away, then at least you have something to look forward to. If it is forever you must be strong and positive and find other ways to fulfill your longing. In this day and age it has become a lot easier with social networks, email, Skype and all the other technology.
Personally I think that It depends on where you are in your own life. If you are stressed out confused worried having nothing but problems then you are not going to be able to handle any extra stress. If you are in a good place then the stress will seem absolutely minuscule. I think the distance isn't an issue but the time would be. If you are in a good place you can do anything. So how hard is it to love at a distance, as hard as you make it.

Titles, introductions,conclusions 3/1

So how much do these things affect your paper. They are supposed to help to unify your paper. Reading from my English book I am learning what purpose they have. Also when is best to to made them. For instance some people wait until the paper is done before they make the title and Introduction and some do them at the beginning.
Lets start with the title. Most important for the title is it needs to grab the attention of the audience. Then it also needs to show what the paper is about. You must also use appropriate capitalization and punctuation.
Introductions announce the topic and need to get and keep the readers attention. It also reveals the tone and attitude toward the topic. The book also tells me to think of the introduction as a plan or map for your readers.
Conclusion for several reasons including that it is at the end is remembered by the reader more than anything else. This is to summarize your major points in the paper. What ever the paper has been building up to would go here and it gives the reader a chance to agree. It also lets the reader know this is the end.
Here is a couple things that would make them all effective. In the introduction you could cite a statistic or provide a vivid description. In the conclusion you could look backward through your paper and summarize or look forward to the future like the impact it would have. Good luck on your papers.
